Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Friday and Happy Valentine's Day! It has been a fun and busy week. (There is a giveaway opportunity at the end of this post!)

My kids are in love with centers. They don't even know they are learning, they just feel like games to them.
Here is a look at some of our Valentine centers we have been working on.

Lovin' Long Vowels                                 Scoop and Tally                Lovely Tens Frames

Short Vowel Sort                                                                               Short Vowel Recording

My kids spoiled me today. I have enough chocolate to last me all year. This isn't even all of it! If anyone is chocolate deprived, I would be happy to help!

They also spoiled each other. A lot. I'm talking giant piggy banks, large boxes of heart chocolates, and loads of candy and cards for everyone. It's like Christmas up in here.

Here are some of the books we read today for our Valentine's Day celebration. One of my kids asked me why we didn't have balloons if it was a party. How dare I not get balloons?!

I was surprised to see this AMAZING Valentine's gift box on my doorstep this week! It came from the fabulous Tieks by Gavrieli! I am so in love with this company. They by far have the BEST customer service out there. (Not to mention their shoes...) You can enter to win one of these amazing boxes for yourself here. You want one. Trust me.

My newest product is a pack of Sight Word Practice Pages. I really needed a way for kids to practice their sight words that was kindergarten independent work friendly, sooo I made my own.

I'd love to give a few away! If you want to win this set, just "pin" this image. Then, post the link to your pin in the comments. I will pick winners by Monday. =)
Congrats Linda!

Have an amazing weekend!

Five for Friday (February 7th)

Yayyy for Friday! I am linking up with Doodle Bugs for Five for Friday! Stick around until the end to find out how to win something you can probably use in your classroom next week.

I totally changed how we deal with supplies this week. My students each had their own box of supplies and were trading crayons like they were playing cards. It was driving me INSANE. Sooo we switched to community supplies and so far it is working out much better.

The box and cups are from Dollar Tree. The cups came in packs of six.

I love them because the cups fit inside and then we can close and stack them when we don't need them!

We have a separate storage place for our glue and scissors as well. These little bins came from the Dollar Store as well--but I got them about ten years ago.

(I clearly still need to make a cute label for them.)

I am taking my Praxis to be ELL endorsed tomorrow. Any thoughts/prayers/good vibes would be greatly appreciated!! I can't wait for it to be o.v.e.r.

I know I have briefly talked about Ebates before, but if you haven't signed up yet you SERIOUSLY need to! You get free money for shopping online. AND you get a gift card (of your choice) just for signing up. For real. It's FREE money! I can't wait to get my check and go buy a new shirt or something!

All you do is click through the Ebates website before you online shop, and they'll send you a percentage of your purchase back as a check. Pretty awesome if you ask me. Click the logo to check it out.

I updated my Valentine's Day Mini Unit and am giving one (or maybe more...) away! Click the picture below to check out the post where you can win this unit.

Have a great weekend friends!

Valentine's Day Giveaway

Hi friends! I have recently updated my Valentine's Day Mini Unit. (If you have already purchased it... re-download it for free!) It was one of the first products I ever made and it has been revamped and includes many more activities! Stay to the end of this post for a chance to win it for yourself!

Do you ever look back at a product you made a while ago and think... "ummm this is not half as good as I remember it being"? Well I no longer have to think that about this product. =) It is finally getting to the point where I can re-use activities I made last year... buuuut some things have needed a little touch up.

Here you can see the majority of the activities that are in this set.

In this mini unit:

-4 Math Centers (each center includes a cover page with visual directions as well as a recording sheet)
--candy heart patterns
--scoop and tally
--lovely tens frames (numbers 11-20)
--time to the hour and half hour match (color and B&W)

-4 Literacy Centers (each center includes a cover page with visual directions as well as a recording sheet)
--There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose sequencing (2 levels)
--short vowel sort
--loving long vowels (2 levels)
--sight word BAM! game

also... Valentine's Card graphing, interactive sight word reader, and more!

EVERY center now comes with a cover page that has visual directions. This makes it super easy for your kiddos to complete the center independently. I find it hard for my students to not ask me a million questions without it. It helps me have peace when I am working with a small group. =)

Check out my class using some of these centers last year in this post

Want to win this Valentine's Day Mini Unit? Just "follow" my blog and leave a comment with your email address. I will pick a winner over the weekend. =)
Congrats to #4, Laura!
