Tieks Giveaway and a Thanksgiving Freebie!

I know, I know... I'm breaking a huge bloggy rule by posting twice in one day. *gasp* I am such a rebel. =)

I am so jealous of those of you that are on Thanksgiving Break already! We have to go to school until Tuesday. BUT I do have a fun little FREEBIE for those of you who also have a couple of days left.

Did you hear about my Tieks giveaway?! You could win a $100 Tieks gift card! Don't miss it! Click the picture to go to the giveaway.

We have been having some Thanksgiving themed fun this week. We did a fabulous turkey craftivity.

Here is everyone's turkey. Some followed directions better than others... buuuut every single one of them was SO very proud of their turkeys and will not stop asking when they can take them home. You can get this freebie from Doodlebugs here.

We did some thankful writing along with our turkey craft. They did a really nice job of being thankful for things other than toys, candy, etc.

"I am thankful for God and the teacher."
(Apparently I have no name. Just "the teacher". Haha!)

I have just started using a new software for testing. It is called ESGI (Educational Software for Guiding Instruction). Let me just tell you... it rocks!! It makes testing so much easier and FASTER. Click the logo above to check it out and get a $40 discount with the code B2552! Look for a full review coming soon!

Last but not least, here is a Thanksgiving freebie for you! We are using it next week. It is a pumpkin tasting and graphing activity! Click the picture to download for free!

Five for Friday--11.5

I am linking up for Five for Friday! This is kind of a two weeks combined Five for Friday because I missed last week.

Last week we had a little Election Day fun. We read Duck for President. My kiddos (and I) LOVE this book.

Then to give them a "voting experience", we voted on which movie we would watch for "Fun Friday". (Fun Friday is a reward for students with good behavior throughout the week.) They could not wait to see which movie won!

We are finishing up our letter study over the next couple of weeks. This week we focused on the letter P. The kiddos read a book from Reading A-Z in the format of "P is for _____". I typed the sentences from the book in a mixed up order and the students cut and glued them in the correct order. SO simple but they enjoyed it.

Did you see my post about my new Tieks? You should probably check it out. It has an exciting announcement. Giveaway anyone?!

This is one of my student's writing from this week. She was able to choose what to write about herself.

"I love you God. From ____ to God. (Love God?)"
Isn't that the sweetest thing?! Melted my heart.

This little one also wrote about how her teacher is so pretty and she loves her. *blush*

One of my boys has been making a fashion statement lately...

The next Ralph Lauren maybe? Only time will tell.

Have a great weekend!

Tieks for Teachers!

Have you heard of Tieks?

Well... I have FINALLY gotten my first pair and... I am in love! They are absolutely beautiful.

What are Tieks?

What makes them so great you ask? This diagram pretty much sums it up.

The great thing about these shoes is that they are fold-able so that you can take them with you. Easy to pack... easy to change into while out... just easy!

You may think because they are fold-able that they are flimsy and weak. (Not gunna lie... this was my biggest concern before purchasing.) I was pleasantly surprised to find out this is not the case at all! You would never be able to tell they can be folded up while they are on your feet.

They also come in pretty much every possible color you can think of. It was so hard for me to decide which one to get! I love the "Mint" color... but I decided to be practical and go with "Chestnut". I am so glad I did because they are currently out of stock!

Aren't they perfect?!
(I apologize if you are blinded by my ridiculously pale legs.)

They also come in the cutest packaging. ever. I love the "Signature Tiek Blue" box with the PINK (my favorite) flower on top. Someone please help me think of a way to use this flower! It is so pretty.

(The dancer in me automatically noticed the type of rhinestone they used on the flower. If you have ever danced or cheered... you know what I'm talking about--and those stones aren't cheap!)

The shoes come folded neatly inside the box. When you open it for the first time you can smell the leather and you will be in love. Trust me.

Each pair comes with a hand-written card. Can we say amazing customer service?! They are seriously some of the most genuine and helpful business people I have ever communicated with. I cannot even tell you how great they are!

These shoes are on the pricey side due to the high quality of the leather and the fact that they are hand-made. However, I may just be able to help you out a little bit...

You should probably read the card...

Did you catch that? Giveaway?! Make sure you keep checking back so you don't miss out!

Which pair of Tieks are your favorite?

Pumpkins Galore and a Giveaway!

We have had a week full of pumpkin fun! I am linking up for Five for Friday to tell you alllllllllll about it. Stick around until the end for a chance to win some pumpkin goodies!

We cannot celebrate Halloween at my school due to religious reasons... however pumpkins = fall so they are fair game!

"Five Little Pumpkins" was our poem this week. The kiddos loved it. This version is a little different than the one I learned as a kid--no witches or magic included.

We went on a field trip to the pumpkin farm on Thursday. The kids love it and so do I! If you live in the Nashville area, you should check out Walden Farm. They do a great job and make it easy for the teacher to have a stress free day--which is ALWAYS a good day in kindergarten.

After the farm, we did a "pumpkin discovery" activity with the pumpkins we picked on our field trip.

This is part of a freebie by Nicole Ricca that you can grab here. There a lots of great whole group activities in the mini-unit she made!

We whipped out my new Pumpkin Math Centers this week. (Hang around to the end of this post for a chance to win them.) We are hitting numbers 0-20 HARD.

In this center the students put the pumpkins in order and then write the numbers on their recording sheet.

Here they count the pumpkins on each side, then decide which side is greater.

Here they practice number fluency by rolling a die and then reading the numbers in the matching row.

Here the students scoop a handful of pumpkins, count them, and then tally the amount.

This week was the first time I used dry erase pouches for my center recording sheets. (You can see them in the center pictures above.) Can we say huge paper saver? The kids love them too. Dry erase markers = the most exciting thing on the planet when you are five. Don't you wish a marker could bring you that much happiness?? I got my pouches with my scholastic dollars last year. Here are some similar ones you can grab on amazon for much cheaper.

Want a chance to WIN my Pumpkin Math Centers? Just leave a comment with your email address on this post and I will pick some winners by the end of the weekend!

I sent my Pumpkin Math Centers to all of you who commented. Thank you for reading my blog! If you missed out on this giveaway, don't worry! There will be plenty more. =)

Giveaway WINNER!

Welllllllllll today is the last day of my Fall Break. Did I accomplish as much as I was hoping? Of course not! I forgot my computer cord soooo that made it impossible a little difficult to complete things for school, TpT, or this blog. Oopsies. BUT I did crochet three scarves... that counts for something, right? Plus I got to enjoy lots of time with the fam which is never a bad thing.

And now to announce the winner of the fabulous new PINK sharpener from Classroom Friendly Supplies.

*drum roll please...*

Congrats Yashika!! Check your email so that Troy can ship your pencil sharpener! I hope you love it!

Thanks to everyone who entered and a HUGE thanks to Troy for allowing me to host this giveaway! We have a field trip to the pumpkin farm this week, so that should be fun and exhausting at the same time. =)
