1. We have been working on the letter "R" this week. Each week we make an anchor chart and the students supply words to add to the chart the begin with the letter we are working on.
This week one of my kiddos gave the word "rude". I thought that was hilarious. Wonder where they hear that...? hehe
2. Here is an apple center we used this week. It was supposed to be a "roll and cover" center... but I totally did it wrong so that dice could not be used. Oops. SO it became a "pick a card, count the dots, and cover" center.
You can grab this FREEBIE here.
3. Did you see my other Apple Counting Freebie from last week? Get it here.
4. I have been working on some pumpkin math centers for after break and *hope* to have them finished by the end of fall break. I always end up doing nothing on breaks... and when I say nothing, I mean not. a. thing. I can't be the only one. Here's a peek at where I am with them so far.
5. Now it is time for a GIVEAWAY! I have TWO of these sharpeners myself and they are simply the best. (Click here to check out a review I did for them.) Now is your chance to win one! Troy has introduced a new PINK sharpener in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. One dollar from each pink sharpener sold is donated to one of two cancer charities (Caleb's Crusade and Susan G. Komen for the Cure). Enter to win below!

And now time for a nap. Why? Because it is break and I can! Have a great weekend friends. =)
I love, love the cute roll and cover game! Using cards is a great way to practice too! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteTo manage pencils, I use a 'Ready to Use' and 'Needs to be Sharpened' system. Each child has two pencils in their supply box to use each day.
DeleteI so need one of these! Thanks for giving one away!
ReplyDeleteI use a container for sharpened pencils and one for dull pencils. I would love one of these sharpeners! Thanks!

I always have some sharpened pencils, but my pencil sharpener is getting dull with 64 students. I would love to win this sharpener.
ReplyDeleteI sharpen pencils as needed. This group of students don't need their pencils sharpened often. I have a bucket of sharpened when their pencil lead breaks during work time. My electric pencil sharpener is trying to die, so I would love to have this sharpener! :)
ReplyDeleteI sharpen everybody's pencils right after lunch count and then there is a TRADE cup. If they need it sharpened during the day.....they have to take a trade cup pencil......might not be a glittery one! lol!
ReplyDeleteGlad I found your blog!

I would love to win one of these pencil sharpener. I am very tired of the whirr of the electric pencil sharpener and the chopping of the manual one.
ReplyDeletei have a basket where students can trade out pencils.
ReplyDeleteI have a broken pencil container and a sharp pencil container. If a pencil is dull, then the students exchange it for a sharp one.
ReplyDeleteI would love this in my class!!!!! Thanks for the opportunity
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win! Would LOVE one of these in my room!
ReplyDeleteWe have a sharp and not sharp basket but pencil management is a hassle every year it seems!
DeleteSince I have 110 kids rotating through my room, I really don't have a management system for pencils. I expect them to sharpen their pencils before rotating to their first class. Thanks for the opportunity! Would love to win this sharpener!
ReplyDeleteI keep a container of freshly sharpened pencil and one to put pencils in that need to be sharpened.
ReplyDeleteI have a pencil (straw) dispenser. I have two students job is to sharpen pencils at the end of the day, and fill the dispenser. It works great!
ReplyDeleteI keep them in a special jar where they are safe behind my desk.
ReplyDeleteThe way I manage pencils in my classroom is with an equipment manager as the pencil sharpener. There is a sharpened and dull section next to the pencil sharpener. However, my students also have hand sharpeners to use when the room is quiet and they need to sharpen their pencils. This is the best sharpener I have ever found. I used a friends and fell in love. She almost didn't get it back. I have tried so many others they don't come anywhere close to this one.
ReplyDeleteMy students are older, so I let them handle their own pencils. I do provide pencils for a small fee. I would love to win a pencil sharpener!
